What is the difference between life coaching and therapy?
Therapy primarily focuses on healing from past events. The therapist is viewed as the "expert", the client is the "patient" and the presumption is that something needs to be "fixed".
In life coaching, the client is viewed as creative, resourceful and whole; nothing is "broken" or needs to be "fixed". Melissa follows the co-active coaching model which maintains that the client has the answers within. The client and coach are in a collaborative partnership. They are a powerful team passionately committed to creating positive change in the client's life.

What is a sample session?
This is a 30 minute complimentary session which helps us determine if coaching is right for you. After a few clarifying questions, we explore the area(s) you want to focus on. The session also provides an opportunity to see if you and Melissa "click."
